Encorus Group has been a part of the First Buffalo Marina Capital Improvements project in multiple capacities. In 2017, as part a team headed up Trowbridge Wolf Michaels Landscape Architects, Encorus staff performed conditions assessments of various properties which had been recently acquired by the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation (ECHDC). These properties included the First Buffalo River Marina.  Systems including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing throughout the site were evaluated with the end goal of giving the ECHDC a better understanding of their newly acquired assets.

In 2018, Encorus Group joined a design team headed by OLIN to redevelop the First Buffalo River Marina site into a more public-friendly space. The goal of the project was to enhance and upgrade a 15-acre area of Buffalo’s Outer Harbor. The site features a legacy grain elevator, an iconic piece of Buffalo’s history. Encorus provided MEP design and was responsible for ensuring proper water, sewer, gas, and electric site utilities to features, evaluated the need for sprinkler protection within structures, and provided HVAC and electrical design for a walk-up restaurant concept.

This project is currently paused due to the pandemic and ECHDC expects to re-start and complete the design as construction funds become available once again. To see a full project description from OLIN, follow this link: https://www.theolinstudio.com/first-buffalo-river-marina.
