Compressive Strength Testing
One of the many services offered by Encorus Group’s Civil Materials Testing Team is a compressive strength test. This mechanical test is performed by applying an increasing amount of pressure to a piece of material to determine how much weight it can handle before fracturing. The compressive strength of the material is calculated by dividing the maximum load attained during the test by the cross-sectional area of the material.
This type of test is used to decide which specific type of material should be used in construction scenarios where large and heavy buildings or objects need a structural base or supports. Materials that can undergo compressive strength testing are concrete cylinders, cores, mortars, grouts, and concrete masonry units.
Encorus Group provides compressive strength testing on all of our special inspection projects.
