Project Objective
The New York State Preparedness Training Center, located in Oriskany, NY, is operated by the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES). The State Preparedness Training Center (SPTC) offers complex training opportunities for state, local, and federal agencies.
Unique Project Features
Building 1 was originally constructed around 1950-1951 with multiple additions taking place 1958 and later. The scope of this project included the replacement of the EPDM roof on the main administration building, Building 1. The front and rear entryways were restored because of damage that had occurred from water infiltration. This restoration included replacing the ceiling, upgrading lights to LED, and repairing the finishes.

Encorus was a subconsultant to Bell & Spina Architects-Planners, PC and provided hazardous materials inspection services for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs in caulks and sealants, and mold. Encorus also performed abatement design services including CADD drafting, specification writing, and construction administration services.
