Join us in welcoming James Sullivan, as he begins his role as a Construction Materials Testing Technician! We are excited to have him on the team.

We asked James a couple of questions to get to know him better.

What led you to Encorus?
A gentleman named David I met at the Buffalo and Erie Botanical gardens. I was working there and David was on assignment for the Encorus Group. I asked him how he liked it here and he said it’s a great place to work for and that I should keep an eye out for openings. So that’s what I did.

What are you most excited about as you start in your new position?
Going to different job sites and learning a new trade.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A firefighter which I retired from.

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
On a mountain bike in the woods and camping.

Do you have any pets?
Two outdoor cats. Eclipse and Ewok Crapperton.

What is one thing you want people to know about you?
One thing I want people to know about me is that I have a very good work ethic.

What is your favorite book or movie?
The movie Braveheart.

What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?
Ride my bike.

Who was your favorite teacher in high school, and why?
Mr. Wilupski. He was my electrical systems teacher. What I loved about him was, he made us do all the work with hand tools first before we could use power tools and he made us do calculations on paper before we could use calculators.

If you had to choose one food to take to a deserted island, what would it be?
Gyro dinner with lots of pitas.
