Joseph Lowry III, PE

Joe is a licensed Professional Engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. He started working for the firm part-time as a CAD drafter while he was in High School and has seen his role evolve over the years into various engineering and project management positions. He has served as President and CEO of Encorus Group since 2011.

Through a dedication to exploring and cultivating new opportunities, Joe has consistently driven the profitable growth of Encorus. During his tenure as President the company has grown from a single engineering office of 15 people into a diverse and capable design, testing, and inspection firm with a staff of over 100 people across multiple offices and states. Due to this growth, Encorus Group has been recognized as a FAST TRACK Company of Western New York five out of the past seven years.

Personally, Joe was given the 2017 Young Engineer of the Year Award through the NY State Society of Professional Engineers and was recognized by Buffalo Business First as a 2017 Buffalo 612′ C-Level Executive honoree. He is a 2021 40-under-40 Award Winner as well as a 2023 Leadership Award Winner through Vistage Worldwide.

Joe believes strongly in the importance of remaining a lifelong learner. He is a graduate of the Veterans Institute for Procurement (VIP) Program as well as the VIP Advanced Program. He has also completed the Entrepreneurial Bootcamp for Veterans at Louisiana State University, and various programs through the University at Buffalo Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. He credits much of his business and personal success to being a long-time member of Vistage International – a peer to peer executive coaching organization.

In addition to his “day job,” Joe is proud to be an active contributor to his local community. He is a founding member of “Green Springville, Inc.” – a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating a local culture of environmental sustainability through education, advocacy, and direct action. He is an elected School Board Member and has held past positions with the Springville Area Chamber of Commerce, and his local Public Libraries.

In 2017 Joe and his wife, Ashley, created UNOVA Coworking, the first facility of its kind in their community. Since its creation UNOVA has helped hundreds of local individuals and small groups to achieve their own personal and professional success. Joe and Ashley are actively involved in the renovation and improvement of real estate in their Village Downtown district and are helping to make sure their community is vibrant and inviting, and thrives for generations to come.

Joe is also a former member of the New York Army National Guard and a graduate of the Intelligence Analyst program at Fort Huachuca, AZ.  He served his country as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst with the 27th BSTB HHC, located in Buffalo, NY until being honorably discharged in 2012.
