Complex Problems and Safe Solutions
Dedicated to finding safe solutions related to legacy nuclear waste management.
The firm has operated under an ASME NQA-1 Quality Assurance Program since 2002, and has worked with personnel at the West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP), Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), Hanford, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), and others to ensure the safety of site staff and the public now and into the future.

What We’ve Done
Encorus’s proximity to the West Valley Demonstration Project site has allowed us the opportunity to assist in the decontamination and decommissioning of the site in a number of ways, including fire protection, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering support. We have worked both on-site and remotely to design a five-ton remotely-operated hook rotator, evaluate floor structures for the viability of potential increased loading, design for demolition of structures on the site, and to recommission a vital piece of legacy equipment.
In addition to the WVDP, Encorus has worked with DOE prime contractors to design an underground ventilation fan and revamped fire protection system for the WIPP site, a containment structure and frame for a 10-ton crane at the SPRU site, and modifications and a decontamination plan for the refurbishment of a radioactive waste sorting and packing system, as well as filtration systems for various sites.
