Encorus Group Joins Exciting Seneca Park Zoo Expansion Project

Encorus Group is thrilled to be part of an exciting new chapter for the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, NY! Monroe County Executive Adam Bello recently announced the selection of CambridgeSeven as the design consultant for the highly anticipated Seneca Park Zoo Tropics Exhibit and Main Entry Plaza capital project. This $100 million initiative will transform the zoo into a world-class destination, offering an immersive and interactive experience for visitors.
The 48,000-square-foot Tropics building will bring visitors up close to diverse and vibrant ecosystems, including the Borneo Forest, Tropical Islands, and Pacific Reef Habitats. With a 150,000-gallon Pacific Reef Tank and an incredible lineup of anticipated species—from orangutans and clouded leopards to blacktip sharks and Komodo dragons—this expansion is set to provide an unforgettable experience. The project also includes a 22,000-square-foot Main Entry Plaza, featuring ticketing offices, educational spaces, an event venue, and the Zoo Shop.
As part of this transformative effort, Encorus Group’s RBM team will be providing Hazardous Materials Testing and HazMat Design services to ensure a safe and compliant construction process. We are proud to contribute to a project that will enhance the region’s conservation efforts and educational opportunities, further solidifying the Seneca Park Zoo as a leading destination in Monroe County.
