As a subconsultant to Mott MacDonald, Encorus provided commissioning services as described within the Energy Conservation Code, Section C408, for the new station.
The former station was demolished in order for a larger, more energy-efficient facility to be constructed in its place. Approximately 38,000 passengers use the station annually, and it is intended to become an intermodal transit center for downtown Buffalo. A temporary station was constructed for use by passengers during construction of the new station.
Encorus Group provided both mechanical system and lighting system commissioning tasks. As part of the mechanical system commissioning, Encorus developed a commissioning plan, which is a document describing the key steps taken throughout construction and operation of the facility to attain the desired results. Encorus staff were on-site to monitor mechanical system adjusting and balancing and observe functional performance testing, and completed observation and documentation of lighting system functional testing. Encorus also was present to verify operator training and development of preliminary commissioning reporting.
