Join us in welcoming Elizabeth Clark, as she begins her role as Associate Mechanical Engineer! She is a graduate of Alfred State College. We are excited to have her join the team.
We asked Elizabeth a couple of questions to get to know her better.
What led you to Encorus?
What led me to Encorus is the type of work the company does, the potential to become a PE, and being a born and raised Springvillian, Encorus is close to home.
What are you most excited about as you start in your new position?
I am most excited about applying the skills I learned at college and learning more about the mechanical engineering field.
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was little, I wanted to be a jockey racing Thoroughbreds, and a horse vet.
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
My favorite way to spend a day off is hiking with my husband.
Do you have any pets?
I have a black lab puppy named Bandit, and horses named Ruby, Daisy, and Fritz.
What is one thing you want people to know about you?
One thing I want people to know about me is that I have played drumset since I was 7.
What is your favorite book or movie?
I love to read and my favorite book tends to be what I am currently reading. At the moment I am reading The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian, which I think is good and interesting compared to the HBO series based on the book.
What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?
One of my favorite things to do as a kid was play with my sister, specifically playing with our horses or Barbies.
Who was your favorite teacher in high school and why?
My favorite teacher in high school was my band director/ bowling coach because he made rehearsals and bowling practices fun.
If you could invite anyone who has ever existed to a dinner party, who would you invite?
I would invite Teddy Roosevelt because I would want to ask him about his experience with the Rough Riders and about his enthusiasm for the outdoors.
If you had to choose one food to take to a deserted island, what would it be?
If I had to choose one food, it would be a bag of homemade chocolate chip cookies.
