Join us in welcoming Christian Van Nelson as he begins his role as Senior Structural Engineer. He brings 21 years of structural engineering and project management experience to the Design team. We are excited to have him join the team.

What led you to Encorus?
To further my career in a useful way and make an impact on younger engineers.
What are you most excited about as you start in your new position?
Meeting new people and projects.
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An Engineer.
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Relaxing on my new deck with a few cocktails.
Do you have any pets?
One Cocker Spaniel (Bucket), two cats (Yeti and Timone), and a bunch of fish.
What is one thing you want people to know about you?
My name is Christian, not any shortened or elongated version.
What is your favorite book or movie?
The Tick.
What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?
Camping, surfing, and skateboarding.
Who was your favorite teacher in high school, and why?
That was way too long ago.
