Project Objective
The scope of this project was to design for the renovation of the physics wing in the Science II building at SUNY Binghamton.
Unique Project Features
Phase I construction includes the entire physics wing and tower ground floor through second floor, including required modifications in basement mechanical areas.
Encorus Group Solution
As a subconsultant to ME Engineering, Encorus Group provided electrical, fire alarm, plumbing, and mechanical HVAC construction inspection services. The project involved the complete renovation and reconfiguration of three floors of the building, in addition to relocating the main electrical switchgear for the building, the installation of all new electrical distribution equipment in the renovated areas, the installation of a brand new mass notification system, and the installation of a new air handling system for the renovated areas.
Encorus provided on-site inspections and documentation of the status of the project. Construction progress reports were prepared following each site visit, and deficiencies were documented and reported to the design engineers and contractors for resolution.
