Canandaigua VA Medical Center Vehicle Wash Bay Design

Project Objective
This project’s objective was to design a vehicle wash bay at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center.
Unique Project Features
The wash bay is intended to be used for mobile health care trucks, fire trucks, ambulances, and patient buses and must be designed to accommodate their size and weight. Storm and wash water were all to be discharged to the stormwater drain.
Encorus Group Solution
Encorus staff designed an open-sided structure. The driveway and wash pad were designed to accommodate larger vehicles, and to prevent freeze / thaw heave issues. An open trench for drainage was incorporated, with water passing through an appropriately-sized oil-water separator with coalescing filter in order to comply with all codes and regulations.
