SUNY Fredonia Mason Hall Floor Rehabilitation

Fredonia, NY

Project Objective

Mason Hall is home to the School of Music. Mason Hall was built in 1941. The School of Music needed to increase the area of the lowest tier of the rehearsal room 1024 to accommodate instruction.

Encorus Group Solution

Encorus provided an evaluation of the existing concrete floor’s capacity and design for shoring the existing concrete floor from the crawl space below. The evaluation revealed that the existing slab required shoring support in order for the lowers tier to be infilled with lightweight concrete. Design calculations and detail sketches were provided to the client.

Specific Project Tasks

  • Site visits to gather information and field measurements
  • Examination of existing drawings
  • Preparation for design for concrete infill material for masonry enclosure
