Project Objective
The 2020 Vision Capital Project included a variety of campus wide upgrades. Roof replacement or repairs were conducted at all schools. Batavia High School underwent restroom expansions, and auditorium upgrades. Site safety and life safety upgrades were made to update fire alarm systems and improve drop-off configurations and pedestrian access. At Batavia Middle School, building entrance and security were upgraded, as well as an upgrade to the auditorium sound and lighting, and PA systems school wide. The music areas were expanded, and upgrades were made to the gymnasium, classrooms, and stair halls. John Kennedy Intermediate underwent classroom expansions, window replacements, upgraded lighting and sound systems, improved drop-off areas and pedestrian access. Jackson Primary School underwent restroom expansions, window replacements, and upgraded lighting and finishes. Richmond Memorial Library upgraded fire alarm systems, ventilation, and finishes, and constructed an accessible walkway. Upgrades to the Van Detta Stadium included a field shift, restored historic ticket booth and entrance gate, construction of a new track and turf field, new press box and bleachers, expanded parking lot, new scoreboard and storage garage, and relocation of the playground at Robert Morris.
