SUNY Binghamton
Project Objective
The chiller plant services Science III and IV, the Science Library, and the Event Center. This project added Science II, Science V, and the West Gym to the chiller plant.
Encorus Group Solution
The scope of this project included verifying cooling loads to confirm the size of chilled water plant and design of a new energy efficient, redundant system. Design included necessary replacement of existing equipment, piping modifications, electrical connections and controls. The chiller plant’s capacity was increased to provide cooling to the additions of Science II, West Gym and Science V. Sienna Environmental Technologies (now Encorus Group) was responsible for Computational Fluid Dynamic modeling for proposed tower locations to confirm the tower drift would not affect any adjacent buildings or outside air intakes.
