Structural Engineering Review of New Chair Lift Bike Attachments at Kissing Bridge

As mountain biking continues to grow in popularity, ski resorts are finding new ways to maximize the use of their facilities during the warmer months. To enhance access to its trail system, Kissing Bridge explored the addition of bike-carrying attachments to its existing chair lifts, allowing riders to transport their bikes more efficiently to the top of the mountain.

Kissing Bridge needed a structural engineering review of its proposed bike bracket design. State approval required sealed engineering drawings demonstrating that the attachments could safely support the intended loads and comply with applicable codes and standards.

Encorus Group evaluated the existing bike bracket concept and determined whether the design was suitable for use on the chair lift system. Our structural engineering team performed detailed calculations to assess the strength and performance of the proposed brackets under anticipated loading conditions.

Through the review process, several design modifications were identified to improve the structural performance of the brackets. The updated design was then analyzed to verify compliance with applicable requirements and ensure the attachments could safely accommodate operational demands.

Upon completion of the engineering review, Encorus prepared and issued sealed drawings documenting the finalized design. These drawings provided Kissing Bridge with the engineering documentation needed to support the state approval process.
