Join us in welcoming Abigail “Abby” Wasmer as she begins her role as Drafter I. She brings experience in CAD and document management, with a background and understanding of engineering principles. We are excited to have her join the team.
We asked Abby a couple of questions to get to know her better.
What led you to Encorus?
University at Buffalo sent an email regarding a civil engineering job at Encorus. I then looked up the company website and scrolled through the available jobs. I was intrigued by the number of available positions and the opportunity for future growth within the company.
What are you most excited about as you start in your new position?
I’m most excited to dive into the work and start collaborating with everyone across the company’s different groups. Finding my niche within my team and the company.
What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
In the warmer months, I love being outside: hiking, kayaking, camping, and swimming. In the colder months I tend to lean more into my crafty side with painting, making jewelry, and anything else I can dream up along the way.
Do you have any pets?
I own a tabby cat named Nova and a miniature dachshund named Archer. I often get asked if they get along, and they are truly brother and sister—they fight, play, and cuddle.
What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?
I have always loved puzzles, rocks and making things whether that was playdough creations or an easy bake oven dessert.
